Calculate the starting point price for the current job you are selling, remember the price given by the calculator is not final and you should adjust based on the input you gather from the client. Please always consult your Sales manager.
What is the Job Estimator?
The Cost Calculator is a piece of software built with the idea of making the job of our sales reps easy and remove the hassle of having to calculate the cost, price and profit of every job, this tool will mitigate the time consuming task and provide a base price for the job from which you can work with the customer as you get more input from and understand the scope of the work they want.
Getting ready
First we need the Total Area of the Project in Square Feetex: Lets say our area is 40ft x 10ft = 400SqFt (square feet).
After the area is calculated we need to select the type of job the customer is looking for:
- Asphalt
- Concrete
- Seal Coating
- Site Work (grading and dirt jobs)
Define What is a new build? & What is an overlay?
New Build for a sales rep means there is not a solid base to lay the asphalt in the desire area which means the terrain needs to be excavated and compacted with limerock to create a strong foundation in which the asphalt will maintain its integrity and last for years.
Overlay for a sales rep means there is a solid base to lay the asphalt in the desire area which means we are not going to excavate or lay limerock down as the current state of the terrain is strong to hold the asphalt and maintain its structural integrity.
Material Thickness
Every job needs an area to work with, material to put down and the depth of the materials.
Depth of materials for each job is necessary it help us calculate cost, the amout of materials we are going to use and drive the price up and down.
Depending on the Type of job there is a set thickness for each material:
- Asphalt Residential: 2 Inches
- Asphalt Commercial: 2 or more Inches
- Concrete: 4 Inches
- Limerock: 3 to 5 Inches
Remember this values can change depending on the client needs and the scope of the job.
